Before & aftercare
Before your treatment
- Avoid direct sun for 4 weeks, and fake tan for 10 days
- No waxing, threading or tweezing for 4 weeks; no bleaching for 15 days
- Stop acid skincare (retinol, glycolic, salicylic) 1–2 weeks before
- Shave the area 12–24 hours before your session
- On the day, no deodorant, lotion or makeup on the area
- Tell us about any medication or frequent cold sores; don't attend if unwell or on antibiotics
After your treatment
- No sun, sunbeds or self-tan for 2 weeks — use SPF 50 with zinc
- No saunas, steam rooms or spa treatments for 7 days
- For 48 hours: no exercise, hot baths, swimming, makeup or perfumed products
- Don't shave for 72 hours, or scrub or massage the area for 4–5 days
- Don't pick or scratch the skin if it crusts or blisters
- No waxing, tweezing or threading during your course
- Aloe vera or a cool pack soothes any redness; wear loose clothing
